Corsages

Corsages complement the overall wedding flower scheme and help set the tone for the theme of the wedding. Finding the right corsages helps create an ambiance that reflects your unique story as a couple.

Corsages are a small grouping of flowers that are either worn on the wrist (wrist corsage) or pinned onto a lapel (pin-on corsage). Corsages are worn by female wedding guests while boutonnieres are worn by male guests. A corsage tends to be a little larger than a boutonniere.

The mothers of the bride and groom usually receive corsages to wear that complement the color and fabric of their outfits. Stepmothers also receive corsages. The bride and groom putting the corsage on their mother's wrists make for a great photo opportunity.

If you have the good fortune of having your grandmother attend your wedding, they should definitely receive a corsage. Grandmothers are treasured guests at weddings. Honor the family matriarch with a corsage to match your grandmother's attire. If you are using different wedding centerpieces, you could even match Grandma's corsage with the centerpiece.

If you aren't using bridesmaid bouquets for your wedding, bridesmaids should receive matching corsages for their bridesmaid dresses.

Corsages are great for any other female members of the wedding including ushers, ceremony readers, and officiants. Giving other attendants wedding corsages is a great way to make them feel special and help distinguish these special VIP guests at the ceremony.

Don't hesitate to give a corsage to other important friends or family outside the typical VIP guests. Maybe a cousin is not a bridesmaid but still very close to the bride or a good friend helped a lot with the wedding planning could be given a corsage. Perhaps the mother of the flower girl or ring bearer could be given a corsage for helping them practice their walk down the aisle.
